[ANN] patch-lua-5.1.4-1

Luiz Henrique de Figueiredo
A patch file for Lua 5.1.4 is now available at
        http://www.lua.org/ftp/patch-lua-5.1.4-1

It combines all patches listed in
        http://www.lua.org/bugs.html#5.1.4

Apply this patch to a pristine copy of Lua 5.1.4 with:
        wget http://www.lua.org/ftp/lua-5.1.4.tar.gz
        tar zxf lua-5.1.4.tar.gz
        cd lua-5.1.4/src
        wget http://www.lua.org/ftp/patch-lua-5.1.4-1
        patch < patch-lua-5.1.4-1
Use curl -O -R if you don't have wget (e.g., in Mac OS X).

This patch is identified by this data
        # patch-lua-5.1.4-1 created 2010-05-13T21:03:24-0300
        md5: 5c7f6dc54cedde48cd3f6342ca794591

All feedback welcome.

Cool! Thanks!

Does that mean that we would see Lua 5.1.5 with these fixes soon?

Alexander.

It does not fix a bug, because Lua works fine with the original code,
but it was a typo.

Soon after 5.2 is released, so that 5.1.5 can incorporate any bug fixes
added in 5.2.

Bugs #7 and #8 do not show diffs, only bug descriptions. Are they fixed?

Not yet because they're not serious. We're focusing on 5.2 at the moment.

When is the projected release of 5.2? Within the month? Season? Year?

No date set: http://www.lua.org/faq.html#1.3

Lua 5.2 work 3 should be out in the next couple of days.

This FAQ item should probably contain a link to
http://www.lua.org/versions.html to illustrate release rate.

I've taken a previous git repository of Lua's history and have been updating it.

I've applied this patch as well:
http://github.com/jsnyder/lua

There are a couple branches with power patches on them as well.  I
think I mainly envisioned using the repo for testing those.

Of course, the rev history is a little sparse so it doesn't show much
more than the released versions...
